Welcome to Re:Learning New Mexico
Re:Learning New Mexico has been funded by the New Mexico State Legislature to work toward educational renewal in the state since 1989. Re:Learning provides technical assistance and professional development to New Mexico public schools and districts. The program is non-prescriptive, working instead to meet each school’s individual needs for training as defined in its Educational Plan for Student Success (EPSS). Re:Learning New Mexico is organized to respond to the immediate needs of schools, communities and districts, providing service at no cost to the school or district. Its staff includes four full time professionals and one adjunct clerical staff who serves as office manager for the entire project. Offices for Re:Learning are located in Santa Fe, Las Cruces and Ruidoso (see page bottom for contact information). Eastern New Mexico University serves as fiscal agent for Re:Learning.
Fully committed Re:Learning schools are those schools whose principal participates in the Re:Learning Principals Leadership Institute. As a part of the commitment, Re:Learning staff are expected to be an important presence at the school site providing training, coaching and mentoring as needed. Other schools may access Re:Learning technical and budgetary assistance for work which helps them meet the needs of their schools based on the EPSS.

Word is Getting Out
Schools become aware of Re:Learning's work in various ways. Re:Learning’s regional workshops have been met with such enthusiasm that a number of schools/districts and Regional Educational Centers have asked that the workshop be repeated for more teachers than can be accommodated in the regional workshops. Re:Learning’s goal is to work with any school that asks for assistance.
Districts, as well, may seek technical assistance from Re:Learning. For example, several districts have sought assistance in facilitating the vertical alignment of the district’s grade level learning targets to the New Mexico Content Standards.
